SMC Lite Steel locking carabiners are for those situations where the high strength and durability of SMC Steel Carabiners is desired but the size and weight is not. Increasingly popular among cave and mounatin rescuers for providing most of the benefits without the weight and bulk typically associated with steel biners.
The shape and size of this carabiner makes it great for most uses, from connecting a belay device to your harness or as a connector at the end of a lanyard. The D-shape makes it one of the strongest and lightest locking carabiners Petzl makes. Perfectly suited for use with belay devices due to its symmetric shape on both ends of the carabiner. In addition, the D-shape has the highest strength-to-weight ratio of all Petzl carabiner designs. This carabiner comes with Petzl's Keylock system.
Available with manual locking (SCREW-LOCK) gate or auto-locking systems (BALL-LOCK, TRIACT-LOCK).
Certifications: CE EN 362, CE EN 12275, type K (K and B for M34 SL), UIAA
The SMC CrossOver series aluminum carabiners are the first biner to meet both NFPA G-rating 1983 and ANSI Z359.1 strength requirements. These carabiners feature a new ergonomic single hand frame geometry allowing easy single hand operations. The CrossOvers have been specifically designed to meet all your work environment safety needs. Easy to use Dual or Triple Auto-Locking sleeves allow for single hand operations while working in mission critical environments. A traditional non-ANSI Screw-Lock version is also available.
Designed to make belaying single-person loads with a Munter hitch easier and more efficient, these large, pear-shaped aluminum carabiners are available in Screw-Lok, Two-Stage Quik-Lok, and Three-Stage Quik-Lok models. The gate opening is 1 in (25 mm).
Every carabiner is proof loaded to an MBS of 23 kN (5,170 lbf).
