Over the years, we have performed dozens of roadside rescues using vehicles as anchors or changes of direction. We have attached to wheels, tied through frame holes, and even seen folks girth hitch tow balls! It was always time-consuming and stressful guessing the safety of our attachment.
The Conterra Hitch-Plate answers the question of exactly where and how to anchor to your rig when performing a vehicle-based rope rescue.
The Hitch-Plate is beautifully made and "wicked strong." It is CNC machined entirely from billet aluminum in Conterra's ISO 9001 certified fab shop. It sports five large rigging holes and will fit in any 2 in. vehicle receiver. (Please check and make sure that your receiver is 2.00 inches)
It has an ingenious system that keeps the pin and cotter attached to the device so that they can't be lost and comes with its own padded ballistic nylon case with grab handle and hang loop.
Meets NFPA Standard 1983 (2012 ed.) and is UL certified. Rated for General Use (G) MBS 50 kN.
(For rope rescue only. Not for vehicle recovery or towing.)
Another remarkable innovation from Rescue Systems, Inc. the OMNI-SLING is comprised of a unique webbing weave which adds incredible strength without compromising on weight.
Constructed with 2 inch long slots and separated by 1 inch of solid webbing, the OMNI-SLING is the only rigging anchor sling that has a separate rigging point every 3 in. Rigging slots are actually woven into the original webbing construction and not simply sewn in, yielding incredible strength and versatility.
Sewn daisy-chain rigging loops often fail at the stitch points well below the sling's rated strength (as most sewn daisy-chains utilize 1-inch tubular webbing with a tensile strength of 4,000 lbs). The webbing used in the OMNI-Sling has an ultimate tensile strength of 8,000 lbf and exceeds all standards and regulations for one person life support lines. When looped like a basket hitch, the OMNI-Sling meets rescue weight requirements.
Available in orange or black, with special lengths available upon request.
Comfortable helmet for work at height and rescue
With its strong chinstrap, the VERTEX helmet sets the standard in head protection for workers at height. Its unventilated shell protects against electrical hazards and molten metal splash. Its six-point textile suspension ensures maximum comfort, and its CenterFit adjustment system adjusts the headband and keeps the helmet centered on the head. The VERTEX is designed for optimal attachment of a PIXA or ULTRA VARIO headlamp, a VIZIR, VIZIR SHADOW or VIZEN protective shield, and hearing protection.
The NER prusik cord strikes the perfect balance between firm and supple. It is engineered specifically as prusik cord so that the rope has enough give to grip the rope but not be so mushy that the knot locks up. This results in a smooth, controlled movement over the climbing rope and makes untying the prusik knot easier to manage.
