The Sked-Evac Tripod extends to ten feet high at the three anchors which are available to clip into.
Each of the anchors is anodized red for easy identification, and all are equally well centred to handle a load.
The anchors, header and legs are interconnected with stainless steel bolts to provide maximum strength. The header limits the distance the legs can spread. When at the full extension this tripod allows you to bring the patient in a stretcher completely out of the hole.
It is rated to handle an NFPA rescue load and has EN795 certification as well.
Included with the tripod is a chain which passes through the feet to provide greater strength and stability. The chain will not degrade in acids or chemicals like nylon straps or ropes.
The legs are adjustable in 5" increments, and Skedco provides safe working load data for each tripod height on each tripod.
When Sked-Evac Tripod is fully extended, the length of each tripod leg is 135 3/4″ long (11′ 3 3/4″). And the Diameter is about 108” (9’).

Disclaimer: Skedco strongly recommends against attaching “change of direction” pulleys to the feet or legs of the Sked-Evac or any other tripod as pulling laterally against unsecured tripod legs is dangerous and could lead to injury or death.
The TerrAdaptor system has been tested extensively in both lab and field environments.
As a result, the TerrAdaptor Portable Anchor system in the standard symmetric tripod and quadpod configurations are the only systems of their kind to be certified by UL to NFPA 1983 (2006 ed.)
Symmetric Tripods are typically used for straight vertical access such as above manholes or access hatches. When straddling a manhole or access hatch, a symmetric tripod's feet are equal distance from the center of the manhole or hatch. All three legs are equally loaded. This is most often the strongest tripod configuration.
