Grant Frost, Director
Grant Frost has over 34 years of experience working in the fire service. He is a Rescue Technician/ Instructor in Vehicle Machinery, Hazmat, Firefighting and Firefighting Tactics. He brings to Dynamic Rescue Systems skills as an innovative designer with extensive training in Technical Rescue. This unique skill combination has led to the development of the Wrap Evac rescue harness, a leading-edge device that is in wide use in the rescue community across Canada. He has been involved with the development of specialized training for small response rescue teams working in remote areas to be combined with helicopter rescue.
Since 1976, he has been involved with teaching in various capacities, beginning with First Aid and then with the development and teaching of modern Vehicle Machinery Rescue for the City of North Vancouver Fire Department. In 1990, Grant became involved with Technical Rescue and followed the same path developing and teaching this discipline for his department. In 1999, Grant was hired by the Fire Academy and was a member of the Instructors team that developed and delivered Technical Rescue Programs. He also has further training in Swift Water Rescue and is trained to Advanced Level Response for CBRNE (Chemical Biological Radiological Nuclear and Explosive Counter Terrorist Response Team for Canada). Currently he is a Captain with the City of North Vancouver Professional Fire Department and continues to instruct with various agencies across Canada including BCIT.
