Extinguisher Training

(2 Hours)

The DRS Extinguishers program is designed to train individuals to safely and effectively use fire extinguishers in an emergency.  This two hour course is suitable for people in industrial, institutional, or private business settings.  The course is made up of two segments.  The first is in class where participants will learn about topics such as:

 

  •  Classifications of Fire
  • The Science of Fire (what is it?)
  • Methods of extinguishment
  • Types of extinguishers
  • Maintenance of extinguishers
  • Fire attack planning

 

The second segment will be conducted outdoors where all participants will have the opportunity to extinguish a live fire.

Upon achieving the core skill objectives of the Fire Extinguishers Course each participant will receive a certificate of completion.

 

Our Instructors:

Each of our instructors is a professional Fire Fighter and Fire Service Instructor within their Department.   Using a student centred approach to teaching ,our goal is to ensure that each client learns within a safe and relaxed atmosphere. Our instructors will tailor the course to meet your specific needs.

 

Safety and the Environment:

The equipment used in the practical segment of this course does not use messy chemicals, which means little to no clean up and is environmentally safe. Our live fire training uses propane, which gives off minimal smoke and is under the control of an instructor at all times.
